absentee ballot INFO2023 Elections committeeThe responsibilities for the EC are outlined in GNTA's Bylaws, Article VI, Section 1.F
The Elections Committee (EC) helps to ensure that our Executive Board & NYSUT/AFT Delegate elections and contract ratification votes are free and fair. Frank Bua, in his capacity as GNTA's VP for Administration, is the Exec. Board's liaison to the EC. Essentially, Frank organizes GNTA's elections, the EC counts the ballots and certifies the results for the membership. This year, GNTA's elections are scheduled to take place in all buildings on Monday, April 24, 2023. If any positions are contested, the EC will meet at the Cottage immediately after school on 4/24 to choose its Chairperson and begin counting ballots. (The process usually takes about two hours.) If no positions are contested, the Exec. Board may recommend to the Delegate Assembly at our meeting on March 16 that elections are unnecessary. In that case, the EC will not need to meet on 4/24. This year's Election Committee consists of the following volunteers: Lauren Banyon (EMB); Carol Goldberg (NMS); CHAIR: Patrick Kennedy (JFK); Donna Kramer (NHS); Deirdre Ryan (JFK) Rosemary Sloggatt (SR); Kelly Spence (SHS); |
