Do One Thing
It may be something as simple as putting the NYSUT Member Action Center app on your smartphone, or it may be your participation in a political rally or registering so you can vote for pro-education candidates in an election. Whatever it is, GNTA is asking you to Do One Thing (at least!) this year to promote public education.
And, as a small incentive, every time you Do One Thing in the 2014-15 school year, you'll be entered in a drawing to win a $300 American Express gift card.
Here's how it works: Every time an active GNTA member steps up to Do One Thing, s/he receives a raffle ticket that will be entered in our drawing for a $300 AMEX gift card at GNTA's End of Year Reception on May 27, 2015. (You don't need to be present to win.) Below is a list of possible Do One Thing activities--if you have a new idea let us know! Every time you Do One Thing, tell your BRC Chairperson, and s/he will give you a raffle ticket to fill out for our year-end drawing. BRC chairpeople will send the tickets to the Cottage, and we'll hold the drawing in the spring. It's that easy.
When you Do One Thing, you're not only helping your students and your profession, but you're joining the fight to save public education.

- Install the NYSUT Member Action Center app on your smartphone. (Go to mac.nysut.org on your mobile device.)
- Attend a pro-education political action event. (It may be a march or a rally.)
- Help us staff a NYSUT phone bank for an hour or two.
- Register to vote (& then vote for pro-education candidates!)
